F1 Racing Event in Braintree Trip Report

Sunday, February 10th broke some of the hearty Mass Miata Club members out of the winter doldrums by attending the first February event; and hopefully one that will be repeated annually on the Mass Miata Calendar.

Although there were few Miatas in the parking lot, approx. 30 MMC members and guests arrived at the F1 Racing facility in Braintree, MA for some informal Cart racing and good old fashion socializing. Just about everyone had some track time, many for the first time, and several opted to "go again" after experiencing the joys of Go-Cart racing against other drivers on a very curvy and challenging indoor track.

The usual club hot shots; Rob, Lester, Bill, Kevin, Jack and our own President etc. were in their element on the track. (I heard a rumor that Bob secretly practiced every day for a week hoping to break the track record).

We gathered in a reserved section of the restaurant which looked out over the race track. Sandwiches, salads, munchies and various drinks (no alcohol if you are going to race) were consumed over the course of the day. All in all everyone had a great time and were looking forward to another fun filled Miata
top- down season.
